Judy and Mary have just returned from a very successful week working with the teachers and children of Gilmore Elementary School, North Tonawanda.
They worked in all levels of classrooms sharing oral language activities, writing activities, demonstrating shared and guided reading.
The children and teachers were very receptive to all that was presented and we hope to be back in the future.
One thing that would be exciting for the children to work with would be the writing exercise books that our children write in New Zealand. These can be found for sale on the JCL website and just make it easy for children and teachers to keep an ongoing record of writing progress.
Dear Gilmore Staff,
As all of you are aware, we had an exciting opportunity at Gilmore School to work with two wonderful ladies (Judy Knott and Mary McDonald) all the way from New Zealand. It was a terrific week in which numerous Gilmore/North Tonawanda staff members were able to take advantage of this professional development opportunity.
I would also like to point out that both Mary and Judy donated two books that will be housed in the Gilmore School library. The titles of the two books are:

Crazy Kiwi Tops and Tails

In closing, many of you joined us out in Lewiston to celebrate with our new friends this past Friday. I believe all of us would agree that this was an opportunity that we were all thankful for.
